Gaelic tree alphabetg: gort: ivy

Hybrid digital print (monoprint + digital)
Limited edition of five
21 x 21cm

The Gaelic tree alphabet was adopted in Scotland some 1500 years ago. The alphabet was represented by a script known as Ogham, each of the 18 letters corresponding to a different tree. This and the other images in the series illustrate some of the trees from the alphabet.

It is anticipated that this and its companion pieces will form the basis of an artist's book on the Gaelic tree alphabet in due course.
